Wake County Public School System Online Scholarship Guide
Open Ended Deadlines:
National Co-Op Scholarship Program
Students can apply to one of ten institutions and can apply for one of these scholarships simply by completing an online version of the form. The participation and support of the Corporate Partners and Sponsors signifies a keen and ongoing interest in the professional growth and development of college students.
Requirements: 3.5 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale, apply for the 2017-18 academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed.
Deadline: Varies depending on school. Check brochure for specific information.
Suntrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes
Amount: Thirty (30) $500 scholarships to be awarded for education expenses at a college or university
Requirements: Free to enter and eligibility not based on GPA or financial need
Application: Enter online or by mail once every two weeks up to 15 times during the sweepstakes period. Two winners chosen every two weeks.
Deadline: October 28, 2016 thru May 12 ,2017
Triangle Community Foundation:

North Carolina Community Foundation Scholarships: The North Carolina Community Foundation offers about 150 scholarships every year. Many are available to students throughout the entire state, and there are a couple that are available specifically for students in Wake County! The UNCG Guarantee is a selective scholarship program for high-achieving, low-income students who plan to attend UNCG and are residents of North Carolina. Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest Description, Monthly deadlines: Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Entries are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. Skin Care Ox The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship:
The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to female students who are leading healthy lifestyles. Students are asked to write a brief 500 word essay on their experiences maintaining health + wellness while enrolled in college.

• Deadline: This is a quarterly scholarship offered September 30th, January 1st, March 31st, June 30th every year)

Virtual Reality Rental Co. Scholarship:
The VRtrepreneur Scholarship is our way of funding tomorrow’s top technology entrepreneurs. Maybe you sowed the seeds of your entrepreneurial spirit by building websites or iPhone apps in high school. Maybe you’re planning on building the next big technology company. Either way, if you've got the entrepreneurial bug in you, then we want to help fund your dream. We’re willing to grant $1,000 to any student we believe has the potential to change the world through technology entrepreneurship.
We offer the scholarship to a student each semester. The entry for the Fall semester is May 1st to August 20th and it's open for the Spring semester from August 31st to December 31st.. We will announce the recipient on August 31 and January 2nd of the subsequent year.
NCHSAA Endowed Fund Scholarships:Thanks to the generosity of many donors, the NCHSAA Endowed Fund offers several scholarships to eligible student-athletes of NCHSAA member schools.

Morehead and Park Scholarships:
Selection process for the Morehead and Park Scholarships have begun. Students may be nominated by a teacher or self-nominate. Applications are due to Mrs. Graham in Student Services by Wednesday, 9/20/2017. These scholarships are highly competitive. The Morehead-Cain and Park Scholarships are 4-year full-tuition scholarships to UNC Chapel Hill (Morehead) and NCSU (Park). Siemens Scholarship:The Siemens Competition is open to high school students who are citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) of the United States. Students must be in good standing, enrolled in and attending one of the following (during the 2017-18 school year). You must be attending a high school (grades 9-12) in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Wake and Midway Islands, or the Marianas.

Complete the application form below including a 140-character message about texting while driving. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about texting while driving.

Levine Scholars Program at UNC Charlotte:
The Levine Scholars Program seeks exceptional high school seniors who demonstrate a commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard. The program takes the brightest, most capable students and gives them the tools, resources and environment they need to explore the world around them, engage across discipline and excel at the highest levels. Scholars receive:
- An award for four years of tuition, room, board, books and mandatory fees
- An $8,000 grant to implement a service project of their own design
- Four summers of experiences including study abroad and NOLS
- Access to a professional development fund
- An undergraduate experience they will cherish for a lifetime
The total value of this four-year scholarship is estimated at $105,000 for in-state students and $155,000 for out-of-state students.

Shelton National Leadership Scholarship NC State University:
This is one of the USA’s most prestigious scholarships for student leaders. It is awarded to an entering freshman, valued at $10,000 per year, renewable upon satisfactory academic progress and leadership involvement. The application opens mid-July every year. Deadline for high school seniors to submit the online application to the General H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Center is no later than 5:00 p.m. October 15 of each year. The General Hugh Shelton Leadership Endowment provides:
- $10,000 annual NC State tuition and fees, housing, etc.
- Annual enrichment funds up to $2,000 for student leadership enrichment experiences.
THE THOMAS WOLFE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM at UNC:The Creative Writing Program and the Department of English of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are pleased to announce the Thomas Wolfe Scholarship, which offers full four-year financial support to one incoming freshman per year.
The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship will accept applications for its 17th national search beginning September 1st, 2017. Please note that our application process involves two separate steps and two different dates, and all applicants must take both steps and meet both deadlines, to wit: Thomas Wolfe Scholarship applicants must apply to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by the University's October 15th, 2017 EARLY admission deadline and must meet all academic requirements for EARLY admission; and 2) Scholarship applicants must also apply to The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship, with the deadline for submissions to the Scholarship being November 15th, 2017 (submissions must be electronically submitted by that date). These are two distinct application processes and require different forms and separate online submissions.

NC A&T University - Cheatham-White Scholarship:
The Cheatham-White Scholarship will provide an outstanding educational experience for students who are exceptional scholars, versatile and well-rounded individuals. Cheatham-White Scholarships will be awarded to students with a broad range of interests, proficient in areas of both the arts and sciences, who demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to service.
Each recipient will be awarded a fully funded four-year scholarship that covers the costs of all of the following: tuition, student fees, housing, meals, textbooks, a laptop computer, supplies, travel and personal expenses. Each scholarship also provides four summers of fully funded enrichment and networking opportunities that may include international travel and study. It is truly a complete award, meant to recognize academic achievement and potential at the highest levels.
