Governor's School of North Carolina
The Governor's School of North Carolina is a 5½-week summer residential program for high school students. The curriculum focuses on the exploration of the most recent ideas and concepts, and does not involve credit, tests, or grades. Students are selected to attend through a competitive process after being nominated by their school.
There will be a Governor’s School informational meeting Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 pm in Jones Chapel at Meredith College. If you have questions, please email or see Ms. Stallworth (email@example.com) in student services.
NC School of Science and Mathematics
Are you a 9th or 10th grader interested in learning about the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics? NCSSM is a 2 year residential program in Durham, NC, for talented rising 11th graders with an interest in STEM. NCSSM Online is available as well. Come to an informational meeting on Monday, September 23, 9-9:45am in the AHS Media Center. You must sign up via the SignUp Genius on the AHS Student Services website under 'College Visits' to attend the presentation. Ms. Mattie Gaddy-Park will be presenting information about the school and the application process (Applications are open to current sophomores only). Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics
Are you a current 10th or 11th grader interested in learning about Summer Ventures? Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics is a no-cost, state-funded program for academically talented North Carolina students who aspire to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Come to an informational meeting on Monday, September 23, 9:45-10:30 in the AHS Media Center. Figuring out finances for college?
Come meet with our financial advisor. Ms Bonnie Sykes will be here at Apex High School on Wednesdays throughout the year starting on September 11, 2019 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm starting 9//11 to meet with Students and Parents of Seniors to discuss their financial aid options.
